Product Overview

Mastering the Bessel Beam

Unlike standard spherical lenses that focus light to a single point, an Axicon (Conical Lens) features one flat surface and one conical surface. This unique geometry transforms a standard laser beam into a non-diffracting Bessel beam or an annular (ring-shaped) focal zone. This deep, extended depth of focus is the absolute core technology for high-aspect-ratio laser drilling and the precision cutting of brittle materials, such as glass and semiconductor substrates.

The Apex Polishing Challenge

The most critical—and difficult—feature of an axicon is the physical tip (apex) of the cone. Standard manufacturing processes often result in severe "rounding" of the apex, which scatters energy and destroys the center of the Bessel beam. We utilize proprietary CNC optical grinding and sub-aperture polishing techniques to strictly minimize apex rounding (< 0.2mm). This guarantees maximum energy concentration and a flawlessly uniform ring profile for your advanced material processing workstations.

High-Power Durability & Global Compliance

Operating in continuous-wave (CW) industrial environments demands zero thermal runaway. Our axicons are crafted from the highest purity CVD ZnSe and coated with high-damage-threshold (LIDT) anti-reflective films to eliminate thermal lensing. Fully Germanium-free and designed strictly for civilian industrial applications, our conical lenses provide you with a high-margin, restriction-free component for your advanced optomechanical assemblies.

Beam Shaping & Profile Analysis

  • Optical Function: Unlike standard spherical lenses, the Axicon features a conical surface that refracts incoming light to generate a precision Bessel beam or a distinct annular ring profile.
  • Unique Focus: Exhibits no traditional focal point; instead, it creates an extended depth of focus (ring focus) along the optical axis.
  • Critical Geometry: The specific conical angle (e.g., 140°) strictly dictates the resulting ring diameter and energy distribution. We guarantee an exceptional angular tolerance of ± 0.05°.
  • Material Advantage: Premium low-absorption CVD ZnSe eliminates thermal lensing, preserving the perfect symmetry of the ring profile under high-power CO2 laser operations.
  • Benefit: Delivers highly uniform energy distribution across the target plane. It is the ultimate optical solution for zero-taper laser drilling, trepanning, and the precision processing of brittle materials like glass or ceramics.
