Product Overview

Rugged Alternative to Surface Mirrors

In environments with high mechanical vibration or shock, standard mirrors can easily fall out of alignment or suffer surface degradation. Right angle prisms offer a solid-state, highly durable alternative. Because the reflection happens internally (TIR) or via a protected hypotenuse coating, the critical reflecting surface is shielded from environmental contaminants, dust, and handling damage.

Maximized Photon Throughput

For standard configurations using Total Internal Reflection (TIR), the prism achieves near 100% internal reflectivity without the need for delicate metallic coatings. To further optimize energy throughput for your specific system, we can apply custom Broadband Anti-Reflective (BBAR) coatings to the entrance and exit legs, completely eliminating ghost images and maximizing signal strength for your CMOS sensors.

Reliable, Risk-Free Supply

We understand that continuous production relies on a predictable supply chain. By strictly focusing on civilian-use optical components and explicitly excluding export-restricted materials like Germanium, our export processes are highly streamlined. We deliver globally compliant, ready-to-assemble optics directly to your factory floor or third-party integrators.

Metrology & Performance Reports

Figure 1: Dielectric HR Coating Reflectance
Demonstrates an exceptional >99% reflectivity across the entire visible spectrum (400-700nm) on the prism’s hypotenuse, ensuring maximum beam energy redirection with near-zero absorption loss.

Application & Engineering Integration

  • Target Wavelength: Broadband capability across UV, Visible, and NIR spectrums depending on the chosen substrate (UV Fused Silica or K9 glass).
  • Performance Index: The strict angular tolerance (< 10 arc seconds for precision grades) ensures that the deflected beam hits your target sensor precisely on the designated pixel array, eliminating the need for complex software-side image compensation.
  • Mounting Ready: Edges are carefully chamfered (e.g., 0.2mm x 45°) to prevent chipping during assembly, ensuring safe and easy integration into custom V-blocks or optomechanical kinematic mounts.
  • Primary Applications: Indispensable for folded optical systems, compact machine vision lenses, bore-scopes, laser alignment tools, and automated dimensional measurement equipment.

Custom Coating & Sub-Assembly Services

If your system’s incident angle breaks the TIR limit, or if you need the prism to act as an external mirror, we offer custom High-Reflective (HR) metallic coatings (Aluminum, Silver, or Gold) sealed with black protective paint on the hypotenuse. Our technical team is ready to review your CAD files and optimize the exact specifications required for your instrument housings.
